Printmaking was problematic for me, in that I had no imterest in multiple editons. I was attracted to monoprinting, as it produced a singular image, much like painting. However the image was still pressed, which left the paper’s surface squashed flat. I found myself becoming more involved in reworking the print’s surface with collage, allowing the artwork to breath some life back into itself.
