Have you heard about how hot the Folk Art market is? Folk yeah! But it’s no surprise really, considering that the National Endowment for the Arts has quit supporting trained artists. I mean, imagine NASA stopping scientific research, and handed over its space program to dilettantes. An old grad colleague of mine bemoans the fact that folk art seems to be some sort of national backlash towards education. So I fancied maybe I would go naïve and dabble in assemblage. I found the flirtation has left me rather unsatisfied, however, and the whole affair has reaffirmed my commitment towards NEA make-up sex.
